The ssdreview.com scoring-system:
For a useful comparison of two or more Solid State Drives and/or Hard Disk Drives, you should use the ssdreview.com scoring-system. The SSD or HDD which obtains a higher ssdreview.com score in our scoring-system has achieved a better result in our standardized test procedure. Please consider: If a device "A" obtains a ssdreview.com score of 500 points and a device "B" obtains 550 points, this shows that device "B" performed ten percent better than device "A". If you want to know how good a SSD or a HDD scored compared to similar SSDs or HDDs at a certain time (for example: 04/2012), you should use the ssdreview.com awards.
The ssdreview.com awards:
Each ssdreview.com data storage device award for a Solid State Drive or a Hard Disk Drive rates the respective SSD or HDD sample at a certain time (for example: 04/2012) with a grade, for example: "good (B)" compared to similar competing products. In this way, you can see immediately how this particular sample performs compared to similar products at a certain time. Please note: The ssdreview.com awards do not allow a useful comparison among each other because new SSDs or HDDs can reach new top scores. Each new top score in a certain rating-category will raise the requiered score in the according rating-category for future storage devices to reach a high class rating in the according rating-category. Because of this fact you should use the ssdreview.com scoring system if you want to compare our reviewed devices directly with others.
